JAMES E. BREECE, CFA

Joined Cannell & Spears in 2007.

Jeb is an original member of the Spears Abacus team and a Principal and Portfolio Manager in the firm. He works with individuals and families on portfolio construction, asset allocation, lifetime planning and generational wealth transfer. He also has experience managing portfolios for not-for-profit organizations and working with their boards on investment policy and strategic planning.

Jeb led the equity investing portion of the Spears Abacus Summer Internship Program, a partnership with Prep for Prep. He enjoys helping the summer team members to understand the way a dollar of revenue flows through different business models and working with them to turn their analysis into an actionable plan.

Prior to joining the Firm, Jeb was an investment analyst at Abacus and Associates, a single-family office. He graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in Political Science and is a CFA charterholder.

Jeb lives in Salisbury, Connecticut. where he is a member of the Board of Directors of Project Sage, an organization providing support to victims of domestic violence, and Hollister House Garden. James Breece is an advocate of the use of native plants in gardening and organized the Silva et Pratum speaker series on the topic. He also runs the Kent Flower Market.
